It was the day the First's whisper was heard by all Sleepers capable of it. Ayyon was on the brink of a new conflict. The consequences could be comparable to Nightmare Fuel.
Obviously, minor fights had happened here before, but most of the people of Ayyon honored the Agreement. And those who broke it were severely punished, regardless of faction or their position in society. The Sleepers and the Vigilants lived in peace, but that peace stood only because the world was already too scarred - everyone had enough to worry about.
Tension was building up on both sides. The main reason for this was that the ways of life and goals of both factions were diametrically opposed to each other. The internal migration of the Sleepers vs. the beautiful new world of the Vigilants. Tradition vs. Progress. Spirit vs. Body. The real reasons for the First and Order in this conflict are unknown - but they are definitely dictated by something, it is not autocratic.
And yet the First saw what happened then, at Nightmare Fuel. He must have had a really good reason for not leading humanity to evolve. The kind of reason that fell out of the world's equation of Order.
